 WWW: Wow – what an absolutely phenomenal start you’ve made to GCSE Media! It’s a genuine pleasure to read your blog – real engagement, detailed answers, beautiful and technically impressive creative work… you’ve covered it all! I particularly like that you are interested in Marvel, Disney and the companies behind the media and your film poster analysis perfectly demonstrates this interest and engagement. Keep up the good work!

 

EBI: The key message here is to keep up the good work – I will keep setting homework every week so make sure you continue your excellent start. The only other point I would add is regarding the question on Jodie Whittaker and Doctor Who – she was the first female actress to play the role of Doctor Who! We’ll be covering that in more detail later in the course but it’s an important point in terms of representation in the media.

Reflect on your first month of Media. 

What do you feel is your strongest piece of work so far?  

I think my strongest and most proud piece of work was doing the film analysis homework. 

What is your weakest?

I think my weakest is the denotation and connotation task as it was hard to analyse and put that into perspective. It takes practice in order to compose a good advert analysis.

 What specific skills or knowledge do you need to develop over the rest of the course?

I believe i need practice in order to develop and improve my work over the rest of the course.
